The shipping companies Brise Bereederung, Hamburg and F&L Schifffahrt, Lübeck have officially announced the foundation of their joint venture under the name Baas Shipping. The partners, who have already been cooperating for some time, complement each other excellently in technical and commercial management.
By taking over the technical management of two 925 TEU feeder container ships for Atlantic Feeder AS, the shipping start-up is adding two vessels to its fleet. The two sister vessels, built in Spain in 2008 and 2009, have the high ice class 1A (E3) and are employed in Arkon Allied Container's European Feeder Pool.
"Going forward, we will continue to target market opportunities to manage the strategic fleet expansion for the joint venture," says Dierk Faust, managing partner of F&L Schifffahrt. "As both companies have extensive expertise and experience in the container feeder and mini-bulk tonnage sector, the target direction for new projects is virtually already set," adds Kai-Erik Clemmesen, managing partner of Brise Bereederung.
The BRISE Group, founded in 1985 and based in Hamburg, currently manages a worldwide fleet of container ships, self-discharging cement carriers and multipurpose cargo ships. The owner-operated shipping company F&L Schifffahrt manages its own fleet commercially and technically from company headquarters in Lübeck and Weddingstedt near Heide.
